SunBio

In December 2024, the SUNBIO project was disseminated at the Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management 2024 (IEEM2024) conference organized by IEEE in Bangkok, Thailand. Represented by Professor Mayorkinos Papaelias from the University of Birmingham, the project showcased its cutting-edge research and innovations alongside partners from ICM-CSIC, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, National Technical University of Athens, ENGITEC Systems International Ltd., Robust Systems Engineering SCC Ltd., and Atlantis Consulting SA.

The IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) is the leading international forum for disseminating the latest research, theories, and practices in industrial engineering and engineering management. Hosted by prominent universities in Asia, this conference attracts around 500 participants from 50 countries at each event. It provides an exceptional platform for connecting researchers and practitioners, exchanging ideas, and advancing knowledge in the field.

During the conference, Prof. Papaelias delivered an engaging presentation on SUNBIO’s advancements and impact, followed by a discussion on advanced condition monitoring for rotating machinery. This marked yet another milestone in demonstrating SUNBIO’s commitment to driving technological progress in renewable energy and marine biodiversity preservation.

By participating in events and conferences SUNBIO continues to drive forward its vision of harmonizing renewable energy solutions with marine conservation. The project’s contributions are shaping the future of biodiversity monitoring and ensuring a sustainable coexistence of human activities and marine ecosystems.
