SunBio

Presentation of SUNBIO project’s AI-based site selection research at iFOODis Summer School, Kristinenerg Center, Sweden.

The SUNBIO project was presented at the iFoodis Summerschool in Sweden, held from June 10–20, 2025, as part of the German project iFoodis: “Improving the Sustainability of Food Cycles through Intelligent (Robotic) Systems”. Mrs. Paula Espina Cámbara, PhD student at ICM-CSIC participated in the event, which took place at the Kristinenerg Center for Marine Research and Innovation in Fiskebäckskil, Sweden.

Organized within the framework of the iFOODis project, the summer school focused on enhancing sustainability in food production cycles through the integration of advanced robotics, intelligent systems, and smart technologies. The programme explored innovative solutions to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support environmental protection in marine-related food chains.

During the sessions, Mrs. Espina Cámbara presented a scientific poster titled “Development of an AI-based system for optimal site selection for the SUNBIO platforms HORIZON-MISS-2023-OCEAN-01”. The poster included sections on the abstract, project details, and data domains, and explained both the SUNBIO project and her PhD research concept.

The summer school gathered an audience of over 20 participants, ranging from established researchers to PhD and MSc students. This diverse attendance reflected a strong interdisciplinary interest in applying cutting-edge technological solutions to address marine sustainability challenges.
