On 28 January 2026, the SUNBIO project was presented by ICM-CSIC, coordinator of the project, at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland. The presentation took place within the weekly seminar series of the Department of Environmental and Marine Biology, where ICM-CSIC participated as an invited guest.
The presentation entitled “Intelligent ecological monitoring to serve marine ecosystem management”, introduced SUNBIO alongside other research initiatives coordinated by the ICM-CSIC team. SUNBIO was highlighted as a concrete example of how marine robotics and intelligent monitoring technologies can be applied in real-life scenarios to support the observation, assessment and sustainable management of marine ecosystems.
