The SUNBIO project was presented at the final webinar of the Marine Shield Cluster on 23 April 2026, titled “From Monitoring to Remediation”, which brought together EU-funded projects developing innovative solutions to address marine pollution challenges.
The webinar highlighted the full cycle of marine pollution management—from environmental monitoring and data collection to mitigation and remediation strategies—offering valuable insights into ongoing research and technological advancements across the cluster.
As part of the programme, a dedicated presentation of the SUNBIO project was delivered by Elena Tilegrafou from Atlantis Consulting, entitled:
“Integrating renewable ocean energy, environmental monitoring and marine biodiversity protection”.
The presentation showcased SUNBIO’s holistic approach, emphasizing the integration of renewable ocean energy systems with advanced environmental monitoring tools to support marine biodiversity protection and contribute to more sustainable ocean use.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange, fostering synergies among projects and reinforcing collaboration within the Marine Shield Cluster.
